Great end to the season with a new school record for Billy! NCAA's is an amazing competition. This year was exceptional. Beyond the performances, two social media posts struck me, and are shared below.
This was the race plan posted by the men's steeplechase champion. Written out earlier in the day, he executed it perfectly. Putting pen to paper about what you want and plan to do is powerful.
Week 3 of summer running. Just easy, 60-65%, runs for this week. Next week we'll add one Aerobic Threshold run. With the annual volume spreadsheets sent out, this week will add strength & conditioning sessions of Tue & Fri. Do not overdo these sessions... start easy and progress from there. On Thursday, be intentional about 6-8 x 60-80m hill sprints.

41 miles last week. Legs acclimating to running the miles again. Excited to keep the momentum going and add some hills and aerobic sessions soon

ReplyDelete31 miles on first week back. Felt good for the most part, but went too fast on Wednesday and felt it for a couple days after. Gotta dial in on effort discipline, but its gonna be a quality summer of heat training!

ReplyDeleteGot into a healthy routine of running and recovery. Feeling healthy. Shout out to Billy, he mentioned the technique of taking a cold shower before bed helps with falling asleep during uncomfortably hot summer nights. Getting in the habit of doing this has done wonders for my sleep schedule. Boulder and then Vail this past week. Making my way to Park City, Utah tomorrow.
23 miles last week. Probably the worst 23 miles of my life if im being honest 😂… long run had me dead. Nevertheless, I have been walking so so much in my free time. Clocked in like 15 miles last week. Im honestly a professional walker now so thats cool. Also i started a new job as a Cleaner!!!!
