pyramid of success

Sorry for another short post.  A great first week at camp with deejers.  Another week starting today with deejers, incoming freshman chance, and coach raby.  Learned some good stuff last week.  Was reminded by a coach about John Wooden's Pyramid of Success.  Google it, check it out.  Focus for now on the base of the pyramid, particularly the two cornerstones.  Good stuff!

Got back to running on friday after a 9 day hiatus due to sickness. 15 for the week. Trying to stay positive even though I'm 54 miles behind patrick and only a month til school starts.

  5. 19.5. Felt great Sunday-Tuesday but this neck injury still has me sore. Shouldn't be too much longer before I hit the streets again

  7. 54 miles. Took off Monday because I thought it was my third week without a day off. I thought wrong. Workouts felt good though. I was conservative with the paces, but hit what I set out to hit.

  9. 22.5 for the week. Started the week off biking because my ankle was still bothering me, but I managed to get in and see Paul on Tuesday to get a few things to work on to help it out. Picked back up with my running on Wednesday and have run everyday since with no issues. Still trying to stick to flat surfaces though to be safe. Should be back in full swing this upcoming week! Already had a great long run today!

    Oh btw, eeeyyyyyy oooohhhh!!

54 on the week, 6 mile tempo in 36:47. Feeling solid and getting used to the summer heat a little bit.

  11. 63 this week. Feeling good. Switched to running in the morning rather than at 6, and have felt way better since...but now I'm tempted to snooze a bit in my cube at work

  15. My shout out to Hayley, had a great Sunday with you and Elizabeth! Got lost on the way home and almost got kidnapped by gangsters (not an exaggeration by any means). Eyyyy o Patty-o! Had 41 this week, going hardcore next week. And going to do a LR with KTown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Working on core of course.

  16. 49 for the week. Haven't been able to fall asleep when I go to bed so I've been feeling a little fatigued. Took a day off to rest my body. I think the problem might be my eating schedule. I'll probably tweak it a little.

Workouts went ok. Not a gonna lie I was a little too ambitious with the times for the 80% run (especially when you said conservative...sorry about that. Not gonna happen again).

But yeah everything's good. Hope you're having fun at the running camp.

And before I forget.. Patrick, EEEHHHHH OOOOOO!

  17. 5. My legs are feeling like garbage, but thats probably from the workouts. I felt good on them though.

  19. So I just realized that I forgot to post mileage last week, but I did catch up and read both blog posts. The week of July 8 I had a quarter for my first week back and this past week I was at four dimes and four pennies.

  20. 52 for the week, found a pretty interesting bike trail that went from Key West to the Florida border apparently (at least that's what the older riders told me) and ran on that for the week along with some sandy bike courses and such, good workout for calves.

  21. 45 for both this past week and the week before

  22. 45 miles of rolling-thunder as bronco-buster Cameron and I hopped back on the aerobic-conditioning-wagon of champions. Will be tangling with my first aerobic workouts this week due to a delayed start after the Distance Carnival in June. Achilles is almost back to 100% with some soreness day to day still.

  27. 29 and 36... Rocking the long-sleeves as often as possible. I feel like a badass rolling through town dressed like its december but I probably just look like a dumbass. And I would just like to point out that "up north" it still gets hot. Another 100 degree day today... still rockin the sleeves and lovin every minute of it.

I would also like to say I appreciate Shawns tribute to His Airness.

  28. 43 for last week! Unlike Billy, I am really struggling in the "Illinois heat," haven't been feeling great on any of my runs for the last week. Hopefully the rest of the week will be better!

  32. Sorry being super late, and for posting a disapponting mileage, but last week was only 25.... Embarrassing... Unlike the good ole USA, France has been SO cold, with no sunshine in two weeks. Makes my runs a but depressing..

  35. last two weeks 43 and 30... taking 3 days off this weekend to calm down some inflammation in my foot and I hope to run a slower paced 80% run by the end of this week.
