consolidation week

Last full week on your own before reporting back to school late next week.  After three weeks at full volume, make sure you let your mileage drop this week to recover and consolidate gains.  While this is also the last week for the aerobic short specificity phase, we'll mostly like see one or two more similar workouts in the next few weeks.  Most important now is that you are checking your email as you should be receiving information from compliance and the training room to fill out forms online.  It is important that everyone fill out and submit all required forms before arriving back on campus.  If you have any questions, make sure you reach out to someone to get whatever info you need!

Workouts for this week:

Tue:  12-14 x 45" @ either 6k or 8k goal pace with 3' EASY recovery
Fri: 8-10 x 1' @ either 6k or 8k goal pace with 4' EASY recovery

    Hmmm... some updates on my life:
    -Final presentations this Tuesday and Thursday
    -I made ground turkey tacos on Friday that were really good
    -I have a sick sports bra tan
    -My gel polish actually hasn't chipped in 2 weeks which is a first
    -My new favorite flavor of Gatorade is Icy Charge

    As you can tell, I had a very exciting week!!!!

  10. Another 70 for last week. Like a fine wine, getting better with age! Got one more week of interning and I will rest up a little before starting school.

    *Disclaimer: never drank wine, but found the saying necessary to describe conditioning and base mileage.

  14. 36 miles last week with 65 minutes of biking substituting a Wednesday run. Soreness/pain after Tuesday workout along with form change made it where I biked on Wednesday instead of the medium long run. Other than that everything is going well and excited to see everyone next Friday!

  15. 73 miles. Finally hitting a rhythm up here. May hold off on a down week due to the week off I took for my foot. Won't be back in Atlanta until the evening of August 20th. Gotta maximize profits and altitude training while I'm out here.

  16. 29 miles last week in 5 days with biking on Monday. Sports massage yesterday. Hip's feeling better than it has been in a long time. (worst day of pain last week was better than my minimum pain day 3 weeks ago :)) Besides minor stride adjustments & more light yoga each day, I'm not sure what to make of this, but very thankful. Also, finals week was last week, so I'm free now - feels good

  20. 33 miles for me last week and two days of pool running for an hour! My shins are feeling a lot better and I can't wait to start training with everyone!

  22. 45 miles last week! A little under because I switched my Saturday and Sunday run the week before. Last week of my internship so I'm getting packed up to drive back across the country

  23. My knee was still hurting at the start of the week so I was only able to get 42 miles in. Felt better towards the end of the week though.

My knee didn't feel so good last Sunday so I did three miles of running and an hour and 20 minutes of stationary bike that day but I was able to do my full mileage every other day though I didn't run at full pace for the workouts. I got a new parking pass for the river today. I love the river!

    48 for last week. Feeling fit and having trouble not racing bikes, runners, and skateboarders on the Beltline. I always end up running faster on easy days than I should.
