46 over 6 days for this guy. Took off a day this week cause my legs were pretty sore from camp last week. Had a great 10 mile long run at the river with Joe Stowe, 5-4-3-2-1 fartlek went well, and so did the 80% run. The 80% run was 5 miles in 29:09. It was pretty hot at the park so I did want to push it any father so I wouldn't exceed 80%.

Question though, are we not doing a dual meet with UGA this year?

So, this is a little out of the ordinary, but it seems like I usually find one thing per summer to mention. I was recently introduced to this by my brother: www.mobilitywod.com

This is basically a blog created by Kelly Starrett, a physical trainer who works at a CrossFit gym in San Francisco. The blog has a lot of stretches and exercises mainly focused on CrossFit workouts, but they also apply in general to other athletes. He is big on using a lacrosse ball as his form of foam roller and is really into the mobility of the hips. There are some injury specific videos that give advice on how to treat certain injuries, like pulled hamstrings or plantar fasciitis. All the videos are up on youtube under the channel: sanfranciscocrossfit.

Just something you guys might want to take a look at.

38 this week, I met coach Hackney (?) that goes to the Nike running camp and has a son JP that runs for UGA. They told me to say hello to Drosky! They came into my work..

48 miles over 6 days (took Monday off). Felt great in all the runs this week. I'm ready to move up in mileage a bit.

After taking off Monday, I realized that I would be busy all day Thursday at FASET. So on Thursday I had to find a time to do my run. I decided after dinner was best, So I ate, went down to the GT track, and got in my 6 miles.

49 and took Monday off. Workouts were tough this week, maybe because of the heat. Started volunteering with a local High School XC team, a few of their runners are up at camp with Coach Drosky right now.

50 this week. Pretty tired for most of the week, but my legs finally came back around on Friday and Saturday. Only made it through a 5 mile tempo at 6:09 pace; it was too hot because I went too late in the day (aka 7:30 in the morning) and the heat index was already in the 90s. Rolled on my long run, though.

57 in 6 days. I feel like training in this humidity is going to have some great benefits this last XC season. Glad to see that pre-nats is back on the schedule!

45 miles this week. Had a great tempo run and a so-so fartlek. I ran the fartlek at like 10 am after class and it was just ridiculously hot by then.

34 this week :( The fartlek went well despite the heat, but I had to take Friday and Saturday off because a hamstring/knee issue from track flared up badly for some reason. I'm going to try to run a few easy miles today and am going to active release therapy tomorrow afternoon to see if that helps. Hope everyone is doing well!!

46 in 6 days. Good fartlek and long run. Tempo was just okay. Moved into my new house this week. I forgot how stressful moving is, but it is over now! Also a lot of sod laying and shoe mold nailing made for an exhausting week. I am excited about the new places to run though!

46. Rough week.

38. didn't really follow the training plan because of triathlon this week. But that won't happen again. By the way the triathlon was legit! I loved it, i just need to improve my swim. Now i am fully focused on xc though, and I am ready do get down to business.

50 masterful miles of slam-dunk aerobic conditioning. Swedish-speed-play Tuesday was rock-solid with the help of Mark and Cameron. Stuck with the 5,4,3,2,1 on the track in the morning. Ended with the 1 minute effort at around 71-72 pace. Sunday long runs are feeling better every week with the paces getting faster for the same 70% effort.

Friday brought out the big-3 trio as "King James" Cam, "CB4" Alec, and "Flash" joe-stowe brought their talents to the lake-loop at Piedmont park. Cameron forgot his signature head-band which was a concern considering the steamy-hot conditions in the morning, but he managed to put the team on his back in an epic 5mi 80% struggle in 29:09. Sources say CB4 might have faltered slightly due to eating a "roast beef sandwich" before the match-up Friday morning. Flash managed to squeeze out a 29:35, improving upon his 29:53 from yellow river JUST last week. ESPN analysts are expecting an even better outing for the Miami thrice this Tuesday 7:35am ET.

Coach... Why/How did you change the top row of your excel file to numbers instead of letters??

Coach, BTDT said...

29 miles, ok aerobic fartlek then extracted small measure of revenge on a mountain; and Joe, I have no idea how the top of excel is numbers instead of letters. I just assumed it was the excel 2007 version or something.
