hoosierville

Hopefully you were able to watch the NCAA's on TV yesterday.  If not you missed an awesome two-hours packed with one great performance after another.  Leaving Des Moines today I feel excited about our upcoming opportunities this week in Bloomington and also in the next year.  Just three weeks into our training year, we are in the beginning stages of building the endurance that will carry us to even greater levels of performance.

Still four men we haven't heard from to let us know they received their annual training plans.  Two I get to meet at the airport in Indy on Wednesday for an hour drive to Bloomington.  Should be an interesting ride!

those training for US Jr Nationals:
mon - light aerobic running + technique strides
tue - aerobic fartlek (5' + 4') + 1600 jog + 3 x 300 cut-downs
wed - travel + light aerobic running
thu - light aerobic running + 2 x 200 @ RP
fri - shake-out in AM + competition
sat - light aerobic running
sun - shake-out + competition

continued return to running schedule:
mon - stretching & mobility + light aerobic running
tue - stretching & mobility + light aerobic running
wed - stretching & mobility + OFF or cross-training
thu - stretching & mobility + light aerobic running
fri - stretching & mobility + light aerobic running
sat - stretching & mobility + light aerobic running
sun - stretching & mobility + light aerobic running

31 last week. I broke my thumb yesterday but it shouldn't impact my running.

Last 3 weeks have been: 20, 24, 31

My ankle is definitely healing and I should hopefully be 100% healthy within the next two weeks.

35 miles last week. Also, I am now in Northern Michigan until the beginning of August working as a camp counselor like I did last summer.

22.5 for my first week back. Slightly miscalculated and ended up a half a mile short lol. Been trying to work on my mid foot strike while the mileage is low.

Congrats to Shawn for his 20th place finish in the national! Also, congrats to Julienne! She isn't a distance running but she's still our teammate and now an All-American in 2 events!

Oh yea, Good luck to the Jr. Nats crew!

Made it to Misawa, Japan! Long trip over here, but everyone has been super friendly and helpful. I'm kind of surprised at how much English is spoken over here. And it's cold over here. In the 40s on my run this morning. Missing the Georgia heat already.

btw I got a powerade bracelet in the mail and if you run the 9k powerade challenge and scan the bracelet it gives you a free powerade at the end! (considering powerade is $4 a bottle here... I will definietely be running that route more often...)
