summer in full effect

#MTM #chopwoodcarrywater #WILDDOGS ⬈🝚x🝚 #rememberthegoal #discipline #edify

Week 5 and summer running is heating up, literally and figuratively.  Make sure you are adjusting paces for heat and humidity.  For those on schedule, add a second aerobic threshold run (aka Ae T or easy tempo) to the weekly training for both Tue and Fri.  For anyone slightly behind schedule, only one aerobic threshold should be completed on either Tue or Fri.  The rest of your running for the week remains easy, 60-65%.  Strength & conditioning continues, as does the Thursday 6-8 x 60-80m hill sprints.

Incoming first-year/transfers: move-in Sat-Sun, August 15-16
Returning Students: return Mon-Tue, August 17-18

Physicals for new people and for returning will be Tue, Aug 18.
Year-Beginning/Team Meeting will be Wednesday, Aug 19.
First practice will be in the AM of Thursday, Aug 20

Both the team and GTAA will have functions during the following week before school starts.  Before you make any other plans for this week, make sure you clear with coaches first. If you know of any conflicts, make sure you notify coaches as soon as possible

As always, if unsure about anything, or have any questions, reach out.

38 miles this week. I think I got a lifting routine down so looking forward to hitting that for the rest of the summer. Got some really great runs in with the team this week excited for some more.

70 miles, it was a hard week but got easier as the week went on. Worked over 50 hours on top of running is definitely tough, but had a great tempo with Joseph and a handful of great runs with other teammates. This week will be much lighter due to work

89 miles. Just did a lot of doubles and running mileage again felt good. No workouts for me yet. Maybe one this week but I want to get my legs under me. Huntsville has been great. -Billy

Great tempo on Friday. Got pacing figured out for it. Getting Strength circuits properly executed. Focused on form with the hill strides. Feeling healthy and fit. Drove to Montana this week and ran in Big Sky. Long run in Grand Teton National Park outside of Jackson, Wyoming yesterday.

63 miles on the week. Tempo on Friday went well, probably went too fast but didn't feel horrible. Acclimating to the heat well.

53 miles last week. My tempo on Friday went really well, and the building up of my mileage has gone very smoothly so far.

60 miles last week. Haven't done this much in a while. Approaching 70s this week which will be the first time in over a year. The summer heat has been killing me out here with no shade or soft surface. So a lot of my runs are slower and I have to add a lot of time every mile to get the work in. This week is supposed to be even warmer so I'm not looking forward to that but it'll be good for me when school starts again

33 miles this week and a freaking great 33. Perfect threshold on Tuesday with the bro Ian Johnson. Work is also going well cleaning a lot of toilets but yk what it puts food on the table. Summer is lit

68 miles last week. Fell a little bit short of what I was wanting to hit for the week, but I'm hoping that will even out. Just struggled to fit some doubles into my schedule and couldn't run Monday since I was in the car all day. Got a visit from my favorite guest this week, was the refresh I very much needed. Excited to keep this ball rolling!
