\\\life

First week of camp in the mountains of North Carolina, so some long days in store!  But love being here sharing what we do, and learning from others about what they do.  Never stop learning!

Mileage is climbin'...stay thirsty my friends :)

25 miles last week (no cross training). Big week — got to meet Lola the snake, and accidentally stole a sandwich from Publix. Hard to get more exciting than that. I've also taken to running my easy runs in full sweats just to eke all the fitness I can out of them. If you think the Adidas switch is big for us, imagine what it must feel like for Coach Kirillov.

53 big ones last week with some cross training and hiking. Lots of hilly trails here which is good for correcting some big weaknesses. Also been at a HNL with this strength work.

Some of you young bucks won't understand how emotionally satisfying it is to EARN THEM STRIPES after four years of the Russell Challenge!!!

46 miles. Forgot my running shoes at my parents house yesterday so im gonna have to use some old running shoes for the next few days until my current ones come in the mail which isnt all that bad cuz my current ones are in the same condition as my old ones. Cant wait to get Adidas shoes. Happy 4th everyone!

40 miles, 80 minutes of cross training (bike/row still...) I don’t have any cool stories though. Excited to be Adidas now, that video all over social media hyped me up I won’t lie

0 ground miles last week, but I got ~5 hours of cross training (3 aquajogging, 2 bike). I'm at the beach right now but I'm getting some walking in and I found a public pool to aquajog in!

51 miles and 1 hour of cycling!

Last week got 35 miles in with not enough core (will do more this week). 41 miles this week. I am still catching up to the training schedule but almost there.

55 miles, 80' swimming and 60' cycling. I've continued doing at least 30 minutes of mobility, stretching and core after every run or cross training session, and I think that will help immensely with injury prevention and general recovery times. Additionally, this is the first summer I have consistently done core and strength work. Can't wait to start workouts in a few weeks!

53 miles last week! Thankful to have people to run with this week. Met with the "Pint Striders" group in Dallas Thursday and ran with Ryan, Matt, and Alex over the weekend.

49 miles and two hours of cross training. My neck is hurting quite a bit lately. I’m hopefully going to get a massage next week and maybe also a new mattress

18 last week. The combination of focusing on good posture at work and the recovery and icing that coach Megesi told me about seems to be going a long way. My back and neck are feeling much better than when I started back up after outdoor. I'm hoping to continue building back up gradually. Also, I have an appointment with the Boise State team chiropractor after work today so hopefully that'll help a lot.

45 last week and an hour on the bike. I am starting to feel very good on all my runs, and I have been staying really consistent on core and mobility work each day.

50 miles last week! I got to run with a girl on Montana State's track team on Thursday which was fun. Also s/o to Jenna for connecting me with the athletic trainer at MSU - my left hip is finally starting to feel stronger and I've been able to sleep through the whole night for the past several days!!!!!! Yay sleep!

40 miles last week & 1.5 hrs cross training. Got to run my longest run since December on Sunday so that was pretty cool!

42 miles. Steady climbing. Soon I'll be above the mileage I was at for most of outdoor. Also did 2 solid hours on the airdyne, finally getting some quality time in there, working it in around work and runs. Otherwise things have been quiet around here. Excited to pull up with the three stripes.

30 miles last week. Was at the beach so I had some early mornings to avoid the heat. Excited about the Adidas!!

52 miles last week and an hour on the elliptical. Can’t remember the last time the heat index was under 98. Just want to survive this summer. Never been this thirsty in my life. THIRSTY FOR WISCO.

25mi last week, took part of Friday and all of Saturday off. Will be taking off running thru this Friday just as a reset. Will be getting some good CT in this week to compensate!

41 miles this week. Building mileage is going well and I'm feeling healthy. I'm ready to get to the max for the summer and start grinding out some harder runs.

5.5 miles on the AlterG @ 70-75%, 2.5 hours of crosstraining (biking, elliptical, purposeful walking). I got some kayaking in for some extra strength when I visited the Fairey's over the weekend. Had a blast, but definitely need to work on my upper body strength

Gabrielle Gusmerotti said...

9 hours on the bike and 2 hours in the pool, trying to swim more but it thunders everyday so I normally gotta bike. VERY excited for my 2nd favorite holiday this week

Bennett Hillier said...

38 miles plus 40 mins aqua jogging. Quad started getting a little tight on a couple of my runs last week so had to back off on the strength and pace a tad, but its feeling good now. Helped my brotha from anotha motha move over the weekend; wow they had a TON of stuff, but with good lifting technique and being the strong man I am, I was able to pull through in loading and unloading ALL of their furniture... and other random heavy items. But the week went well, moving in the right direction, and hope everyone has a happy 4th!

26 miles last week. Unfortunately had some pain in my left hip after my Sunday long run so am taking a few days to recover. Will be doing some altitude training for a week starting July 21st so I’m pretty excited!

Mary Kathryn Knott said...

24 miles last week. I was a few miles short because I missed two days when I was at FASET. Also got about an hour of cross training (weights, core, and hiking up freshman hill a bunch if that counts)

Claire Moritz said...

35 Miles last week and about 35 minutes of swimming laps. Also did some kayaking

41 miles for me last week (plus I’ve been doing at least an hour of walking each week if that counts). Still trying to balance running, working, and getting in strength so not much is new with me. I’m excited for the Fourth of July and the Peachtree Road Race tomorrow!

William O'Rielly said...

37 miles last week. Pretty happy with my showing at the Peachtree today, 35:28 for 105th off of 4 weeks of easy running and suboptimal sleep the night before. Looking forward to building up to full mileage, although with the heat that means I will probably start going to bed and waking up earlier to take advantage of morning temperatures

25 this week, with 5 hrs on the bike and 4 hrs of hiking. A bunch of nagging aches and pains are popping up as I get my legs back under me, so im trying to get in as much cardio without upping running miles too quickly. Still pretty frustrating tho
