Well, it's finally time to return to campus and begin a new school year and a new season! Everyone seems excited about the latter but not so much the former. But the two go together, so might as well get excited about both! Generally this week will be hectic for most, if not all, of you. From a training standpoint, do your best to get the week in, and at a minimum just try to get the miles in even if you can't get the workout(s) in. For the freshman, you should be moved in on Thursday so maybe you can get together for the workout on Friday and then get together for your long run on Saturday. For the upperclassmen, you can move in on Saturday without paying for early check-in, so hopefully you can get your workout in on Friday and do as much of a long run on Saturday as you can get in. Lastly, maybe a group can organize getting to the river on Saturday for those that can make it. As you'll see from the important dates below, Sunday will be a difficult day to get the long run in...

27, feeling bad all week and my left ankle started hurting again, felt like the tendinitis was flairing back up, iced and took some days off

42, tough week trying to get use to the heat and humidity. Can't wait to see everyone!
35 plus a 30 min bike workout last night instead of a run (treadmill in 8th street is not next to a working outlet and I'm not strong enough to move a treadmill by myself... At it was like 11pm so not safe to run outside). Sorry it's short - last week of work, moved home from savannah and back to Tech plus getting ready for leading freshmen retreat and did the best I could :(
This week will undoubtedly be under mileage as I will be gone for retreat, but I will do my best and will take advantage of the recovery to come back strong next week.

50 miles! A record high. spending this week in Oregon and my brother and I did our long run watching the sunrise over the mountains in the chilly air IT IS LOVELY. And then we may or may not have chased 200 geese through a hayfield... Never growing up. Rachel H, you'd be in heaven seeing the flowers here, I'll take pics.
69... on a damn treadmill. Every run I do from here on out will be easier than the 17 miles I covered in front of a wall. Overall Jamaica was pretty cool. Most of the guests there recognized me as "the treadmill guy" and the workers referred to me as "marathon man" or "rafiki". Everyone thought I was 27 at the youngest and 46 at the oldest and that my youngest brother was my son. I'm old enough to coach you youngbloods!

Hey it's Nat, 13 for the week, posting for the last time until we get back to classes. Sorry for the interesting posts this summer, I have had my pet robot leaving my weekly mileage. Don't worry, the numbers are good it's just his vocabulary that is out of this world. Can't wait to see my bros, I think I have made major progress on my GTL this summer (no farmers tan here).
Oh yeah...eloquent, sententious, punctilious, magnanimous, transcendent, pulchritudinous
32 miles this week. My last week of work kept me exceedingly busy but I was able to stay active and stave off exhaustion in the formidable Florida heat. I am in the midst of transitioning to a more voluminous sleep schedule and my meals have continued their indefatigable streak of delicious nutrition. Just this past night I cooked some freshly caught white snapper (the spoils of a deep-sea fishing voyage) with a delicious aioli sauce and vegetables. It required the assistance of a sous chef, but his guidance was appreciated. With the passage of each remaining day of summer, my apprehension with school classes rises, but with it comes an increasingly vehement excitement to rejoin the team and get to know the freshman. With the stringent scheduling and organization of school, my mileage should persist in rising and the workouts will no doubt improve with teammates running alongside me. I'll see you all on Saturday!
49 miles last week with a day off. Packing and trying to get everything done is hectic, but I cannot wait to be back at Tech. I hope everyone has safe travels and ready to breath in the HOTlanta air again! See you all soon. AYO J-Weg

We have successfuly reached our final week of solitude from each other my friends! Time to get together and really start taking the work we put in this summer to the next level with the push of our teammates and coaches! I also look forward to my last first day of school ever(hopefully)! Last week I logged a subpar 40. Still feeling the fatigue from the previous week. The first few days were strong with an 11 mile long run and my second best fartlek of the summer on Tuesday, but the back half of the week really took its toll starting with my attempted medium long run after 7 hours worth of interviewing on Wednesday. Ended up taking Friday off as an attempt to recover before a Saturday morning tempo, but there was no avoiding the fatigue. Managed a feeble 3 at 5:45 pace. Taking a step back this week to get my legs back under me before we all join back up next week. So far so good! Looking forward to seeing the crew!
With my last summer post ever,
The (Lady) Killa
