dates and times

This week's workouts:

Tue: 5' + 4' + 3' + 2' + 1' @ ~85% effort w/ equal time recovery @ ~65%
Fri: 8-10 x 1' @ either 6k or 8k goal pace with 4' easy recovery

The rosters on our website have been updated, check to make sure your info is correct.

Some important dates to note:

*Thursday, August 18th is the date everyone should return to campus.  For freshmen attending one of the last two FASET sessions, you will move into your school year housing assignment early when you arrive for the orientation.  Other freshmen can move in on the 18th without incurring an early move-in charge from housing.  Upperclassmen who incur in early move-in charge from housing will be reimbursed by the Athletic Association.  Upperclassmen who are local can move in Friday if they want, just make sure you allot time for your morning workout, moving yourself in, and our Friday afternoon meetings. IF THIS APPLIES TO YOU, TEXT US SO THAT WE KNOW WHEN YOU ARE MOVING IN.

*Friday, August 19th...we will have our compliance meeting and our team meeting in the late afternoon at 3:30 PM in the Callaway Club area at McCamish Pavilion.  We'll also have a team dinner following our team meeting.

*Sunday, August 21st will be a busy day...physicals in the morning which includes a fasting blood test, squeeze in a run sometime (probably should plan on doing your long run on Saturday), then freshmen will also have an athletic academic orientation in the early afternoon, as well as freshmen convocation in the late afternoon.

Hopefully, the compliance office will email you soon with the compliance paperwork now online so that you can fill out the necessary forms prior to the compliance meeting.

AND THEN, practice will officially begin on Tuesday morning at 6:00AM, August 23rd!

Left for Canada on Sunday the 24th, so haven't been able to post for the last two weeks. Ran 50 miles two weeks ago and 58 miles last week at Lake Huron. Getting very excited!

33 miles last week... Shins were bugging me so I took a day off and cut a couple of days short. Started back up this week and am feeling great! Thrilled to be in Philly and visiting family, but can't wait to be back!

36 pain free miles! Hitting the big boy mileage right here! Foot feels a thousand times better. @Corson I ran at magnolia road this weekend as well. I on the other hand thought it was overrated, but that is just my opinion.

53 miles last week. I was a mile short on my run on Saturday as a big thunderstorm rolled in near the end of my run. I'm looking forward to being back and seeing everyone and meeting all the freshmen.

52 miles last week. Charlotte and I did our long run yesterday on this clay loop here in Florida. The sunrise made running with flashlights for the first five miles totally worth it. Can't wait to get back and see everyone!!

0 miles. I can't find a reliable method of converting cross-training to mileage, so I'm just calling it 0 for now. No new indication of when I'll be back - all I've learned in the past week is that my bloodwork was normal. I was under the impression that these things took around eight weeks to heal; I'm rolling up on twelve, and I still don't have a concrete diagnosis or prognosis yet. Hopefully I can get back before practice starts, but it doesn't look like anybody can say for certain - I guess we'll find out.

62 miles last week. I left New York on Thursday for a week in Germany with my family. Having a lot of fun and getting up early to get the mileage in. We're in Munich for a few days, luckily the massive English Gardens are only a couple miles away to run in.

12 miles again in 2 days with 4 days on bike. Less hip-pain on 2nd run and feeling good/almost pain-free today. One final down & one more Thursday morning. Runs/bike-rides in the park have made wonderful study-breaks :)

49 miles last week. The two workouts went well at a discounted pace, but had a rough long run with intercostal pain that I had to cut short this Sunday. Continuing to work around pain and fix form to make sure the season is successful.

54 miles last week! My study abroad program ended in Spain, so now I'm traveling around Europe. Had an awesome run from Malin's house into Stockholm with Malin biking alongside me and even got to run two laps on the Stockholm Olympic track. The next day I got to run along the Baltic Sea with Rachel. Then Sunday, I had an awesome long run along the Seine River in Paris. Been spending the past couple days in Munich, and now I'm off to Switzerland. Running in Europe has been amazing but still looking forward to being back on campus and training with everyone!

Thought I posted before, but 54 last week! I ran a weird schedule because of smoke from a brush fire and then switched my long run to Sunday, pushing me a little over. I got to do part of my run over the golden gate bridge in San Francisco, which was pretty awesome
