Summer '18 roll call

Time to get the annual summer roll call going on our facebook page .  We're hoping for 100% participation!  It's always great looking through the roll calls of previous summers, so we can't wait to see this year's!

You may receive an email with instructions, but it's simple.  Send a picture of you wearing something Georgia Tech to Coach Megesi.  The idea is to take the pic somewhere and/or doing something that is representative of your summer.  We'll upload the pic to the Georgia Tech Track & Field/Cross Country facebook page.  Include an explanation of the trip so Coach Megesi can include some info with the pic when it gets posted.

43 miles for the last first week of my GT career! Some really nice trails and a public track by where I live, so I've been making the most of running. Been slowly adjusting to life out here in Portland. Good job to Avery for making it to the semi's at USA's. The road to the Crossplex begins now!

18 miles — had to switch my off days around so they fall on Mondays, so this week is artificially short (my daily mileage is higher this week). Had a few slightly faster-paced runs this week, which was nice. If I did any cross training this week, it was a negligible amount. Just getting my fitness the old-fashioned way for now. Got to make a Ficus this week, which is always fun.

25 miles for me this week! Starting training for my new job as a veterinary technician tomorrow, so that's pretty fun. If anyone has sick pets come visit me at Cumberland Animal Clinic this summer!!

33 miles plus 40 mins of aqua jogging last week. Now that my runs are getting longer I've been going out and finding some sweet new trails to run on around Mount Rainier and along some rivers. The river runs are awesome cause the river serves as my ice bath afterwards, that water be cold!

28mi last week! And 3 hrs of CT. Ran in Houston yesterday when I was visiting my best friend and was shocked to find that Atlanta humidity is nothing compared to Texas... nonetheless, fun to run in a new place!

42 miles and an hour of swimming. Anyone else running the Peachtree? (My mom throws a HUGE party after, so if any out-of-state people don't have plans let me know). I'm also taking the MCAT in July so prayers are appreciated. Also, don't forget to not hold your phones while driving! The law starts July 1st.

45 miles, 2 hours of biking, and a 15 mile hike up Sepulcher Mountain in Yellowstone (that was only supposed to be 11 miles - got a bit lost again, oops)! Still no bear encounters to share, but stay tuned.

15 miles last week. Talked with Coach Megesi about treatment for the sore back/neck and have been doing some rolling and icing like she's suggested and it's feeling better. Still need to find a chiropractor or massage. Also @CBowles, it's true. I have a very very patchy beard now, but it's probably on the way out

21 miles last week! First post of the summer but have been running the last few weeks. Was super excited to run 6 miles on Tuesday morning after finding a new trail near my house. I’m currently in the OBX and getting used to the southern heat and humidity. I’m excited to get in my runs (and some swimming/biking) while I’m here!

36 miles last week. I am making health my #1 priority this summer so I am working a lot of hip and ankle mobility. I'm back in Chicago and will be for the rest of the summer, so if anyone finds themselves up here let me know and we can meet up to run

I guess I've been posting in the blog on the wrong week so I'll just repost that I ran 32 the week of 6/17. I'm driving to Colorado/Utah right now so hip mobility/strengthening will be a big focus for this week after spending so long in the car.

13 miles running and 3.5 hours cross training. Had some shin pain the middle of the week, so I took a couple days off to cross train, but it's been feeling great the last few days, especially when running on softer trails.

sorry for the late post, been kind of a busy week. spent it working, running, and volunteering around ATL. 27 miles last week and 2 hours of cross training.

Super super late but hi everyone!! I'm still around. I've been cross training maybe 4-5 hours a week with mostly aquajogging and some biking. My fitness is still pretty low, but I only started cross training again about a month ago and I hope to start transitioning into running again soon! MRI next Friday, hopefully it shows me what I wanna see, which is a non-fractured sacrum I've loved seeing everyone's progress in the comments and I can't wait to be back

30 miles for me this past week. I tried hot yoga for my XT in order to get used to the heat + humidity in GA, and I don't think I have ever sweat so much! I also went backpacking this weekend and did ~20 mi hiking.
