Tue: 5' + 4' + 3' + 2' + 1' @ ~85% w/ equal time recovery @ ~65%
Fri: 10-12 x 1' @ either 6k or 8k goal pace with 3' easy recovery
*make sure you are taking the full recovery and running EASY during the recovery; you can follow the structure of the above workouts, OR you can free fartlek them by just running up to one minute efforts at goal race pace followed by sufficient easy recoveries for forty minutes or more, OR you can run a hill fartlek if you have a hilly route, just run strong up the hill and again make sure you have plenty of easy recovery between.

54 miles last week. Felt good to finally be at full mileage and doing workouts
58 miles and 2 more great workouts last week (on Tuesday and Thursday)! Unfortunately rolled my ankle 4 miles into my long run yesterday which is super frustrating as this has been my best summer of training ever by far. Planning on taking a few days off but if I still can't run by Wednesday or Thursday I'm joining a local gym to get access to a stationary bike because after all the momentum I've gained this summer it would be silly to let this get in the way. Here's to a quick healing process!
62 miles and 3 hours of cycling. Replaced 3 miles with cycling on Saturday due to my IT band feeling tight. I've been stretching and rolling it a lot. Next week when I'm back in Georgia, I'll try to get a sports massage in.
Only 52 miles this week because I caught a stomach bug from family friends who were visiting after spending a week in Mexico with a group that was sick. It hit me hard on Friday afternoon but Sunday morning it gave me a terrible headache so I cross trained to avoid bouncing up and down too much. Ran four miles today to see how it felt and was pretty happy with it. Now I’m just trying to enjoy a family vacation without infecting any more of my family.
53 last week and 56 this week despite some travel mishaps with train schedules etc.. Coming home Friday and can't wait to run with people again!
I ran 52 miles last week. However, I’ve noticed these gnats attacking me in swarms, infiltrating my eyes and ears and sticking to me like one of those Egyptian Plagues. To deal with the latter, I have to wear a hat tilted downwards which definitely impedes my running. Nevertheless, training has been good, but I can’t wait to start running with the team.
44 miles last week with 45 mins on the zerorunner and 2 hrs of yoga/strength. Finished up my classes on Friday and I only have one more week left of work!
only 23 last week.. I was going to try to make up the mileage because of the long run fiasco (ants) but ended up feeling pretty run down and figured it was a safer bet not to push it. But got 45min on the stationary bike + a 3hr hard hike (Crowders mtn) while visiting Mary and also we did a long run together (woooo!)
65 miles :) Someone broke into my car and stole 2 pairs of sunglasses, 2 bottles of prescription medicine, a GPS, and a tub of cocoa butter Vaseline. I only hope that my robber now has moisturized lips
52 miles and 1 hour on the bike. I finish with my internship on Wednesday and am looking forward to sleeping in and doing nothing for the rest of summer. Also I’m going to upstate New York on Friday so I’ll be getting in some more hills before school starts!
45 miles and some elliptical! Final presentation for my internship is on Wednesday, you are all invited
37 miles last week w/ 1 hour biking.
37 miles last week w/ 1 hour biking.
68 miles last week. Workouts went well at the Green Lake dirt track. Doing a short interval/long recovery workout (e.g. 10x1' w/ 3' recovery) with Avery is like trying to walk on boilin' grits without ya boots on. You can do it, but it ain't gonna be fun.
68 miles and a 45 minute swim. How bout that US title for Craig. Been a fan since pre 2016 trials. Hoping to have some boiling grits for dinner tonight
66 miles and an hour on the elliptical last week. Workouts have been going great. Must be all the boiled grits I’ve been eating. 11 days to Island Time!!!
65 big ones with an 8 mile hike thrown in. Workouts have been too good. I've never felt this good in the summer before there has to be some sort of catch. Waiting to see what that is.
USAs always gets me excited to race so hopefully I can take that excitement to the line this season.
Only a few more weeks til the boys are back in town :-)
58 miles last week and 60 the week before
27 miles last week plus 2 hours ( bikes + elliptical ). Had a solid week of training and am continuing to keep these darn shin splints under control! Had a very short Jury Duty experience that started today and ended today with my dismissal which was def for the better
64 miles. More miles less problems. Getting tired of running full mileage and working full time but that's just because I like complaining. Missing my ice bath routine, ready to get back.
35 last week
0 miles last week with 8 hours on the bike, 30 miles the week before with 4 hours on the bike. The doctor I've been seeing found something spicy in my Achilles, so I'm just gonna refer to it as Frank's Red Hot going forward
Really good 55 mile week week before last and BIG OOF for a rough 30 mile week this past week. Kept cycling in and out of a stomach bug that absolutely kicked my butt. Still feel a bit run down but I was able to go for a good run today so i'm excited to be fully back after it this week.
54 miles + some yoga last week! Had a great trip to VT but happy to be home and get to just chill the rest of the summer since my work & class are done now! Everything is still feeling good- got lost on my run Friday on a remote mountain bike trail but luckily found my way out eventually!
54 miles last week and an hour of elliptical! Traveled to Texas this weekend to visit some old friends and running around my old neighborhood was so weird!
50 miles last week. Workouts felt good. Saw the fam this weekend in London so that was fun. We had a seven (seven!) course meal at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant so that was a magical experience. Only 2 weeks til The Return but I've still got a 10 to 12 page, single spaced, 11 point font paper and an exam left which is upsetting to say the least. That is all.
37 miles last week.
29 last week. I haven't hit my new mileage goal yet but hopefully with work winding down I can hit it in the next couple weeks. I think it should be manageable once school starts.
68 miles last week. I went to Nike SMRC to be a counselor last week and it was a lot of fun. The Tuesday workout went well and my workout Friday was a tempo up Buzzard Bait (I'm sure some of you know what that is). Ready to be back on campus soon and running with everybody.
58 miles last week. Workouts felt pretty smooth. Feels good to have a little break from school before coming back
48 mi last week. My first workout went real good. But its still been rough to run and then go work on my feet for the rest of the day outside. I'm excited to stop working when August 15th rolls around.
50 miles last week
54 two weeks ago and 54 last week. I was at Brevard Runners Camp as a counselor these past two weeks, which was so much fun and I got a lot of good hill training in. Now I'm back home and I miss running with other people on the nice mountain trails, but I'm so excited to start practice and see everyone again.
sorry for the late response! Ive been really sick, but 37 miles last week. This week has felt pretty good considering I've actually gotten sleep.
45 miles with 60 minutes strength training (very sorry for the late response)
