truly tracktown usa

Once again Eugene earns the title of Tracktown USA.  It was a great week of competition and Hayward Field is a special place that will host the NCAA's through 2021.  Whether as an athlete or a spectator, you have to experience a track meet at Oregon.  With the close of competition today comes the official end to our NCAA season.  Remaining meets will be the USA Nationals at Sacramento in late June and the USA Junior Nationals back in Eugene in early July.  We'll have one or two entrants in the men's 800m in Sacramento and two women in the 5000m in Eugene.

Remember, all reporting of weekly mileage should now be to the comment section of the blog.

37 and 39 miles for the past two weeks.

Running in London sucked, I got lost every time, but Dublin was much nicer. It gets bright out much too early at those latitudes though, 5:30 or so. I feel bad for Malin. The weather was perfect, but now that I'm back in Barcelona and it is starting to get hot I might have to continue the streak of 6 AM runs from my travel week.

Feeling great! I'm excited to meet the new freshmen and I'm looking forward to visiting Malin in JULY!
The weather has been particularly nice these past two weeks in Switzerland, so running around groups of people on trails is becoming more frequent.
I'm also experimenting with making my own gatorade substitute since it's not sold in the stores around here. #recovery

25. Would have probably hit the actual mileage for this week but I slightly twisted my ankle on sunday so it took my 6-7 mile day down to a 1 mile day.

28! After countless failed attempts at finding a wooded trail even the slightest bit comparable to Kennesaw for a Sunday long run, I finally found one at U(sic)GA's intramural fields. It's actually pretty neat! Freshmen or anyone who lives even remotely close to Athens (I'm talking to you Caroline Kissel) let's meet up half way somewhere one Sunday and run! :) Miss everyone and can't wait to start getting back into the workout/racing routine in August!

0 . This Wednesday I will go to the doctors office and hopefully get the cast off. If y'all are praying people, please send a quick one up to The Man upstairs that my foot has healed!! And if anyone needs a place to sleep in order to run at kennesaw, hit me up! (or if you even just want to go for a post run swim!!)

38 miles last week. Things are going well and I am feeling pretty good on most of my runs. Some of them feel hot when I run in the afternoon. I hope everyone is staying focused but also enjoying their summer!

21 for last week, and not looking so great mileage-wise this week. Just started my internship and scheduling has been a bit hectic. Hoping for more continuity and clarity, but I guess patience and time are needed.

Missing my running buddies.

Since my track season ended late, Saturday, June 21, was my first day back to running after a two week break. I ran 5 miles that day. Next week I am on track for a 35 mile week. I skipped the low mile weeks so I can catch up to where everyone else is. I accidentally posted this comment for the previous week which is incorrect.
