One week closer...it's about to get real! Reminder to be checking emails and texts, a lot of info went out last week and surely more to come. You should have received an email from our Compliance Office regarding online forms that MUST be filled out. You may have received an email from Sports Medicine with instructions on more online forms that they need. And we sent some messages out regarding the date for Physicals and blood tests, and also dates for COVID-19 testing for freshmen and upperclassmen. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, CONTACT US!
This week we will be working with Sports Medicine and our administration on practice protocols and limitations. There will be guidelines that we will have to adhere to. We'll also be working on our team meetings and Compliance meeting for next week. At this point we know some and maybe all will be virtual. The best news at this time is that the season is moving forward and we are working on what our schedule might look like! All this info will be communicated to you soon so stay tuned!

50 miles + 1 hr aqua jogging/ yoga! Also, got to go paddleboarding which was SO fun! Feeling a little better this week! My hips are being a little funky but overall a good week! So excited we get to have a season :)
Heyyo, 49 miles this week. I swam for 30 minutes in the ocean up in RI which was cold. Can’t express how ecstatic I was to see that our season is happening! Also, my good ole mate Kim is coming to stay with me this weekend whoop whoop!!!!! :)
Yes same I'm so glad we'll get to race! 36 miles and 35 minutes of biking this week. I had to cut a couple runs short because of IT band tightness, but it's feeling better the last couple days!
19 miles + 1hr45min of biking last week. Some lower calf soreness turned into pain during the Tuesday workout, which led to me taking a day off and then biking. Tried to run again Friday and I felt better, but I still noticed some calf tightness so cut it at 1 mile. I've been in touch with Coach Megesi and will be getting treatment as soon as I can. Hoping that with cross training and stretching/icing it continues to improve and I can start running easy sometime this week. I imagine the issue is residual from my broken ankle which is frustrating.
On the bright side, I felt like I was making great progress up until this little hiccup. I'll be biking daily with a heart rate monitor to make sure the effort stays honest. Once I'm back running, I think I'll continue to progress well, especially since we'll be back together soon!!
57 miles last week. I crashed my bike within a couple minutes of starting, and temporarily twisted the handlebars, so I didn't get to do much cross training. Running a little bit less mileage this week was really a relief.
44 miles + swimming last week. My legs needed a down week- I really prioritized recovery, and now I'm ready for another week of full mileage. :) Only 5 more days until move-in day, and I'm so excited to get to run with the team! I hope everyone has a great week!
44 miles last week. I did a strength session on Monday and guess I overdid it, because my hamstrings were messed up for the rest of the week. :( I was thankful for a little less mileage, and I'm feeling better now! So pumped to have people to run with in just a few days!!!
55 miles on this week. Can't really make up my mind if this summer went by fast or slow, but it certainly was consistent on my end which is solid. Feels good to be stackin' mileage week by week. Excited to start the grind with you all.
54 miles! first week getting high mileage and now im back on track with everyone! Moving into our house this weekend and im super duper excited to see everyone soon!!! :))
61 miles last week. Back to Atlanta tomorrow!
48.7 juicy ones this past week. Feeling good! Ran to this thing called the moon tower in trussville from my brothers house on Sat which is a water tower at the top of a mile long hill. Probably worse than mags at least for a mile haha. Had to walk to protect knees tho on way down. But excited for these faster fartlek workouts which have gone well.
54 miles! Honestly I had a kinda terrible week of training, just felt tired and kinda worn out, but good thing it was a down week! On the bright side I had a great long run with Hannah this Sunday. Also, I’m spending most of this week in Aspen so we’ll see how running at 7000 ft elevation goes;)
55 miles last week. Consistent training is starting to pay off in work outs and long runs.
54.0 spicy ones this past week. Finally have been able to just relax and do nothing. It's been lovely. Got to run on the belt line on Friday and I saw Sammy C and Matson out there. That was cool. Can't wait to be back on campus soon.
43 miles last week and lots of hiking and other outdoor activities. Short on the week because I took Saturday off because my foot was bothering me from all the walking that I’m not used to. After that I just rolled out and iced a few times a day and it’s feeling much better. Did a little shorter long run on Sunday just to be safe as well. Headed back to FL today before moving into my new house with Liz and Ellen next week!! Very excited :)
48 miles last week + 1hr elliptical and strength training. Feeling pretty good! I'm so excited to move in this weekend. I finally had my graduation ceremony this past Saturday, which went really well! On Friday, I got up super early to get the workout in before my graduation practice and was chased by a bat under a street light... so that was interesting.🙃 See y'all soon!!
49 big ones last week. Workouts feeling good. Did my long run this Sunday at lake blue ridge at 12:30pm so that turned out being a very hot mistake. 12 miles with Knox with like 3 buzzard baits along the way in the heat of the day really didn't feel amazing to say the least, but floating in the lake after was nearly euphoric. Moved into the slaughter house with Henrik James and Knox yesterday and we're quite excited to be there. Looking forward to having everyone back on campus soon‼️
50 miles this week + 30 minutes of open water swimming in the ocean at Seagrove, FL. Even though the roads were super flat out there, they felt so much harder to run on for some reason. Back in Georgia now feeling good and loving the hills! Finally started adding salt in Gatorade for before I run and I can definitely tell the difference it makes. Super hyped to be on campus in less than a week now!
4 hours and 10 minutes of biking this past week back from hurting the shoulder. Even got in a solid fartlek type day on Friday. Feeling good and back to some training!
44 miles last week and felt good! I ran earlier than usual some days but it was still kinda hot. Very excited to move in this weekend!
37 miles last week! So ready to be back.
59 miles last week (and 45 min of aquajogging) and 55 miles the week before. Mileage is back to feeling good. Working my last weekend at whole foods, so come stop by!
64 miles last week. Workouts and mileage has all been feeling good.
