the heat is on

Sorry for the late post!

Again, reminders...

For those on campus, go to MY HOUSING for info on move-in dates and times for your dorm.

Incoming first-year: move-in August 10-11
Returning Students & Transfers: move-in August 12

Both the team and GTAA will have functions during the following week before school starts.  Before you make any other plans for this week, make sure you clear with coaches first. If you know of any conflicts, make sure you notify coaches as soon as possible.

For those on the schedule, this is the first week at full volume.  Because of that, let's keep only one 75% Easy Tempo on Tue or Fri, short hill repeats or fast strides on Thursday, and S&C circuit on Tue and Fri.

The week should look the same for those not yet reaching full volume this week.

Lastly, slow down in the heat and humidity!

43 miles last week + 4 hours cross-train and strength work. Knee took a worse turn this week, so didn't run from Thursday afternoon to Sunday. Trying to get to training room to work on it, but strength work has been going well for the knee, so I'm not too worried about it. Feeling good today, so hopefully all the work is finally starting to kick in. Probably won't be hitting workouts for the next couple weeks while I heal up. Just easy mileage and cross training.

77 miles last week! I did my long run for the next week on Saturday so it turned a 70 mile week into a 77 mile week. Lots of weird switching of off days for traveling but will be back to consistently just Mondays next week!

Kind of a whirlwind coming back from Brazil and then getting a flight rescheduled to get to Jersey. Shin pain was not pleasant in Brazil but I got 30 miles and hill repeats in. We found a nice place to run but needed one of the camp members to come with us unfortunately he couldn’t keep up with Kayla and me. Some beautiful sunrises!
