Just time for a quick post from the Smoky Mountains in NC. Competition underway in Eugene at the US Junior Championships, women's 5000m this evening. Yesterday in the women's high jump, incoming freshman, Bailey, won the event and will now represent the US at the World Junior Championships later in July.
Looking forward to the updates from everyone!

30. Tweaked my knee. We're all good now.
38 Gayoubs this week in 6 runs. Feeling great. Probably going to try to do 7 days in a week soon but most likely not this week since I have two tests. Have fun at camp coaches! A small part of me wishes I was there and then the part of me that enjoys being well rested wants to stay here.
40 miles last week (Monday was an off day)
36 good miles of training last week. Randomly met a 3 time all-America this morning who ran with Brandon Mahoney for Nike a while back. Tis a small world
44 miles
38 Miles. Found a new trail near me that I never knew existed. My Summer is complete.
39 miles for last week. -Patrick Fleming
Only 20 this week. Took a few days off because of an ankle problem but it's all good now. Also check out Chance's post, it's really clever.
9 miles this week. Calves feeling noticeably better.

48 miles.
Highlight of the week: 3 year old kid reached his hand out and I was able to give him a high-five without changing my arm swing at all. I have no idea if he was going for the high-five, but it was pretty sweet nonetheless.
Lowlight: I learned today that it is illegal to be shirtless in Barcelona. After two months of running shirtless I was stopped by a cop, then a biker, and then yelled at by four other people. I'm not sure how both Miles and I have gone so long without any idea of this and in one day I get told six times. I'll be investing in a burqa.

46 miles this week!
24. Got beat by both Nahom and Patrick in the Peachtree. Felt pretty sluggish all week. Just building up now.
20 this week. Had some hamstring problems but it's gotten a little better
35 last week! Nico just run on the beach, if I'm remembering correctly at least half of them are topless...
35 miles!

0.0 with an occasional swim. My foot is slowly gaining strength, but it's still wobbly, so when I go swimming, I wear a strassburg sock type thing. I will be forming my own swim team this week and try to get on a more consistent pattern of cross training. If anyone wants to join try outs will be tomorrow at 6 AM- rain or shine.
37 miles in 6 days. Ran on the treadmill 2 days this week to try to control my pace and avoid the 1pm sun (and to show off to the ladies on the ellipticals). Ran at the River on Thursday with Chance so he'll be used to me being in front of him for cross season.
40 miles this week. Ran the Peachtree and got beat by Patrick. It was fun. My back is still recovering from when I tweaked it.
41 hot flat miles in Jacksonville, FL. This week though I'll be at Zap Fitness running camp in Boone, NC which will be nice.
27 miles.
45 in a very eventful week. Starting every other Mon offs this week though.
I went to Athletissima, a track meet in Lausanne, Switzerland. It was great seeing competitions at this level and the stadium was packed!
Europe loves track (and it was 25 francs for the cheapest ticket).
Among the highlights: a 17 year old from Great Britain won the 1500 with a 4:18 (destroyed the rest of the U20 girls), men's 1500 winner ran 3:31, women's 800 went sub 2:00, I chatted with a 3k runner from Ethiopia the next morning on a trail by the lake, and Justin Gatlin took a selfie with me after winning the 100m (pics coming soon).
I also took an ice bath twice in the Turkish baths in Budapest!!!

29 miles! Ran the Peachtree from a back group and saw Boston marathon champ Meb Keflezighi zip by, as he started last overall for a Kilometer Kids fundraiser. And there was a guy in a pretty funny pug singlet that caused a group of old ladies on the side to giggle out, "streaker!"
43 big ones
43 miles last week
52 miles last week. I think I have acclimated well to the heat but I still run in the evenings some days. I hope everyone had a nice Independence Day last week!
I also just wanted to remind everyone to keep up with the strength, mobility, and recovery exercises- it isn't just mileage that will set you up for a successful year. All the little things will make a big difference come competition and especially come next spring after long months of hard training and racing. Especially for freshman who may not have had as big of an emphasis on recovery exercises before- I know I didn't in high school- it is one of the things that really separates the good from the great. Every collegiate runner is putting in the mileage and one thing that can give you an edge is keeping up with all the auxiliary drills described in the training plan excel sheets. Keep your goals in mind and train smart! The start of the school year is getting closer and closer.
31.5 miles for me! Oregon was super fun and awesome! Hayward Field is truly super amazing and really exciting when you are on the track!
On a side note, I met Mary Cain (super sweet) at the Portland airport super early with Hayley . We bonded in the Starbucks line while she got her starbucks. Funny fact- lady infront of us thought Mary Cain was a soccer player.
44 miles and plenty of general strength. Also went to a yoga class in an effort to loosen my hips and hamstrings.
