back to school 2015

It's finally here ... we hope you're as excited as we are to get everyone back and get started on a new year!  There will be a lot going this week, but make sure you get the medical paperwork and the compliance forms done before Thursday of this week.  If you are unsure about anything, text or call one of your coaches asap.

We will have our compliance meeting on Friday at 3:00 PM ... the location is still not set so look for notification later this week.  After the compliance meeting we will have our start of the year team meeting, then dinner to follow.

Physicals will be on Sunday morning, you should have received notification about where and when you need to report.  If not, find out!  Freshmen have an athletic academic orientation on Sunday afternoon.

Plan on doing your long run on Saturday.  Just switch the mileage for Saturday and Sunday.  Count your weekly mileage with what you actually run on each day, so this week will be higher than scheduled due to the long run being on Saturday.

As we begin preparing for the start of practice, please text us with your estimated 80% pace as well as your typical easy day pace.  That will help us get organized a little easier.

Lastly, make sure you reach out if you have any questions!

Workouts for this week:

Tue: 5' + 4' + 3' + 2' + 1' @ about 85% with equal time recovery at about 65%
Fri: strong aerobic running approaching 80% or fartlek of 5 x 5' @ 80%, r= 3'

Ran 56 and 64 the past two weeks. Didn't have connection to say that earlier. Counseled at a running camp this past week in North Carolina and got some great hill and form work at 2,000 feet above altitude. Hope that everyone else had some great training and an eventful Summer. Excited to see the team and looking forward to what this season has in store!

69, looking forward to everyone getting back. Interesting fact that totally has nothing to do with my long run yesterday: the phrase "Jag Approved" has no positive connotations outside of the realm of Atlanta restaurants.

Hit a whopping 73 this week, feels good to be out of Wilmyhood and the humidity and heat and headed straight to Texas this final week of summer for more heat..

73 Dayoub's last week. If you enjoy going to the river, Buckhead, and Vinings in all one run hit jag up. Only 25 mountains included. All jokes aside never listen to Jag.

51 last week. Had to take two days off due to some knee pain, but wearing a sleeve has allowed me to run pain free since then. Still not sure what it is/was but hopefully it's gone-ish

Eyo to the 69ers! I've been lurking all summer but I think Veith has run more miles this week than I have all summer. Staying in shape though and hoping to pop by on some Sundays if they're at the River. Work is cool, I guess.

Also, randomly ran into Melissa in Charleston last weekend!
