summer '17 roll call

Time to get the annual summer roll call going on our facebook page .  We're hoping for 100% participation!  It's always great looking through the roll calls of previous summers, so we can't wait to see this year's!

You may receive an email with instructions, but it's simple.  Send a picture of you wearing something Georgia Tech to Coach Megesi.  The idea is to take the pic somewhere and/or doing something that is representative of your summer.  We'll upload the pic to the Georgia Tech Track & Field/Cross Country facebook page.  Include an explanation of the trip so Coach Megesi can include some info with the pic when it gets posted.

47 miles. Talked to the owner of running2win after the local run on Saturday. If you don't already have a running log, you should get one!
Also, the guy's 10 year old daughter ran 25 minutes for the 4 miler. She was wild.

61 miles last week. Lots of good runs this week. Frank came through town which was a nice surprise. Yall ever had jack daniels chocolate chip ice cream? They call it Jack Chip. I'd say top 3 ice cream flavor all time. Last note: if you ever have to dissemble a pool table, take the L and pay someone to do it.

23 miles, and 30 min erg and 30 min elliptical. Most of this week was spent in the beautiful state of Kentucky...and on Wednesday I worked from 3am to 10pm, that's 19 hours straight on the railroad!!! Longest day ever :)

33 miles with 1 hour of biking. Worked on $1 flip flop day at old navy, riveting as always!

45 and 31 the week before. Nahom let me crash on his couch Friday night and showed me around some awesome trails near the Fort Collins reservoir. Pro tip: aqua jogging at 10,000 ft is glorified drowning.

Tanner said...

44 this past week, and 28 the week before. Both weeks I got in 30 minutes of swimming. Working on ramping up the cross training this week. I aqua jogged for the first time today with Grady and Matt. Harder than I thought, but I felt good.

Gabe Darosa said...

38 miles. Going to Dr Mason on wednesday to get my hip flexor checked because its been bothering me. Also work makes finding time to run so much harder

Samantha Folio said...

33 miles the past week and 26 the week before. Spent 2 days in Clermont running on a great clay loop! Also, 40 minutes of bike riding!

Hana Herndon said...

31 miles last week with 30 mins of swimming and 30 minutes of strength exercizes. I've just been running in my neighborhood mostly but I went to a trail with Charlotte on sunday!

Kristin Fairey said...

30 miles! Sometimes for cross training, I kayak. It doesn't sound too hard until you kayak out 18 minutes and it takes almost 30 minutes to get back home because of the wind and tide against you

Mike Reilly said...

39 miles last week with some swimming and aquajogging. @Frank all aquajogging is glorified drowning in my book.

Bennett Hillier said...

12 easy miles plus a sweet sweet 10 mile hike up a mountain of snow (Summerland Trail on Mount Rainier). Was definitely a moderately difficult experience, especially once it got really steep, but sliding back down it in fear of an avalanche was as equally fun as it was scary and 500% worth the views. If only that plane hadn't flew by and caused some panic I would've been able to go to the top!... :/
