xc schedule v.2019

Traveling in Europe so only a short post this week with our upcoming fall season schedule below. As you can tell, we really liked how last season went! There are some rather large gaps between races, even more so than last year, which is good for training.  We are considering adding another competition, but so far have decided not to.

Sat, Aug 31 - UGA Invitational, w= 4k, m= 6k / Athens, GA
Fri, Sep 20 - Battle in Beantown, w= 5k, m= 8k / Boston, MA
Fri, Oct 18 - Penn State National Open, w= 6k, m= 5.2mi / State College, PA
Fri, Nov 1 - ACC Championships, w= 6k, m= 8k / Blacksburg, VA
Fri, Nov 15 - NCAA South Regional, w= 6k, m= 10k / Tallahassee, FL
Sat, Nov 23 - NCAA Championships, w= 6k, m= 10k / Terre Haute, IN

Hope to hear from more people on the blog!

18 miles for my first week back! Feeling great getting back into it after two weeks off. I didn't lose as much fitness as I was expecting which was a nice surprise.

22 miles this week with 1 hour of cross training. One of my classes ended this week so I can start sleeping in a little later which I am very excited about!

26 miles last week. Felt good during runs last week but I've contracted the plague so will probably have to shift some things around this week. Resting as much as possible and pounding vitamin C. Vienna's super cool. Went on the world's tallest swing at the Prater yesterday- it's like 387 feet up. Going to Prague tomorrow so that'll be cool. Also Happy Father's Day Coach Drosky.

20 miles this week and it feels good to be increasing my mileage again! It was so nice to be back and be able to run with friends again and I got all my immunization records filled out and ready for the school year!

33 miles and 1 hour of cycling. It was cold enough to wear gloves and tights yesterday, which was nice.

30 miles this past week - my calves have been a bit sore lately but getting better, otherwise I've been feeling really good on runs. Got into a nice groove during my long run on a fitness trail between the Mediterranean and the largest lagoon in France so that was neat.

29 miles for last week. Climbed the Eiffel Tower stairs and felt the burn! Ended up having to run to the metro in order to make it in time to watch the USA dominate Chile in the FIFA Women's World Cup.

36 miles and 2.5 hours of swimming. I got to run with my high school coach and an old teammate on Saturday. I’m trying to find new places to run and build up my CityStrides map. I’m helping with Vacation Bible School the next two weeks so hopefully I will be able to keep a good sleep schedule.

I ran 26 miles this past week. It’s been raining practically every day, which has created some wonderful training conditions. I might start waking up earlier before the afternoon showers.

29 miles last week. Hotel gym closed early Friday so doubled Saturday. Noticed some pain in my right achilles after treadmill running Wed-Sat so ran outside for yesterday's long run at a park near the hotel (Mariott Courtyard). Ended up being absolutely beautiful with tons of great trails, and I was pain free. One thing I'm trying to improve upon is snacking healthier. Unfortunately been tough to find stuff like Clif bars here so I've been getting fresh fruit from grocery stores which is usually pretty tasty but can go bad kind of quick.

27 miles and 90 minutes on the elliptical/bike. Runs feel great but very lonely :( miss having my girls to train with

23 miles for my first full week back. All my runs felt great! However, starting to feel a little under the weather so am starting to down some vitamin C. Hopefully it's nothing much though so I can continue with mileage progression feeling good.

28 miles last week through 3 days. Also ellipticalled for an hour on Monday. Got hit hard with illness on Thursday and haven’t run since Wednesday. Got some antibiotics today so hopefully on the up and up. Any other year I probably would’ve just kept running and would’ve ended up worse, so I guess that’s some sort of progress.

40 miles last week. I am finally done with my track season. nbn did not go as great as I hoped, but it was still a lot of fun. Saturday I ran the 2-mile, and Sunday morning was the 4Xmile. Our relay got featured on runnerspace's insta for our La Croix singlets, which was probably the highlight. Gonna take one week off and get going on xc mileage.

34 miles last week, most of them with Frank, thankfully. Excited for the cross country schedule, but glad I've got plenty of time to get back in shape because man that 9 mile long run yesterday was tough. (I hope those italics format correctly)

Alexandra Melehan said...

17mi last week, and 35mi/2hr biking out at the bud plant again (so glad to get back! indoor biking isn't half as fun and definitely not as challenging). excited to finally be able to get a couple more miles in this week :D

40 miles. Most of them with Mike, thankfully. Knock on wood, but I havent injured myself in a stupid way yet so I'd say this summer is off to a good start

28 miles last week with about an hour of cross training. Tried posting this comment twice on Sunday but I see now it did not go through. Miles are getting easier and easier. It feels great to be getting back after it.

18 miles and an hour of cross training last week. 24 miles the week before. Went out of town for a music festival and as much walking as we had to do it just didn't seem healthy to run on top of that.

23 miles last week with a 2hr vertical hike for cross training in Interlaken! The beautiful scenery made for some great runs and reminded me why I love trail running so much more than pavement.

MK Knott said...

32 miles last week with an hour elliptical/biking. My last summer class was last Thursday and I take my final this Wednesday so I'm excited to be done with that.

Hey people! I do not know if my last comment went through from last week, but I have been working in Costa Rica and managed to get a good 30 in last week. Again, super excited for this season! Go jackets!!!

39 miles last week, and 29 the week before that

35 miles this week. Back to sunny and beautiful weather.

12 miles this week. Just added some really short and easy runs in the back half of my break so I don't get too tight or anything. Was also just getting bored to be honest. Seattle has been so far so good and am doing a good job keeping myself active and productive with all my free time while the parents(Matt and Mikayla) are at work

Hannah Petit said...

36 miles last week and 30 the week before with an hour on the elliptical! There are also some cool places to hike in Arkansas so that’s been fun!
