workout of the day & weekend

For Friday, Mar 2

Here's a quote from Emil Zatopek, contributed by Mary. Appropriate considering the weather we had today!

"If one can stick to the training throughout the many long years, then will power is no longer a problem. It's raining? That doesn't matter. I am tired? That's besides the point. It's simply that I just have to." - Emil Zatopek

I had an excellent 14.3 mile run this morning. A PR.

Yeah with the good workouts we've been doing and my long runs, I'm gonna be mad if I don't have a good outdoor season.

I really like that quote from Mary. I have tons of track quotes that I have collected also over the years to help motivate, etc. Two of my many fav are:

"Running is a big question mark that’s there each and every day. It asks you, ‘Are you going to be a wimp or are you going to be strong today?"

"Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do. This is what it’s all about."
